Three people dead, several hurt in incident at Norilsk Nickel mine

MOSCOW, Oct 22 (PRIME) -- An incident occurred at the Taimyrsky mine of Russian metals giant Norilsk Nickel, killing three people and hurting several more, the company said in a statement on Tuesday citing preliminary data.

“Several people were hurt in an incident which occurred on October 22, 2019. Three people died, according to preliminary data. The circumstances are being clarified. A search and rescue team is working on the site,” the company said.

Norilsk Nickel is holding an internal investigation into the incident.
